Details
In CAD :

  1. From the Modify menu select the Move command, select all the objects with a selection window. Move the objects to the destination coordinates 0,0,0.
  2. In the Layers Dialog turn on, unfreeze, and unlock all layers to be exported.
  3. Explode all objects by selecting the Explode command from the Modify menu and selecting all the objects with a selection window.
  4. If the AutoCAD file contains references to any external files (XREF) you will need to bind these files to the drawing. From the Insert menu select XREF Manager. From the XREF Manager Dialog choose the XREF files and select the Bind button.
  5. From the File menu select the Export command, enter a filename and specify a DXF file. On the File Dialog click the Options button, then check Select objects option. This allows you to select all the objects to import into Visual 2.0.
  6. Select all objects with a selection window. The selected objects will be exported to the DXF filename

Following these steps should insure that all the information in the CAD file is imported into Visual.
