Scale of Imported DWG or DXF file is incorrect
This information applies to:
Visual Professional Edition
Details
Visual scales down DWG and DXF files that are using architectural or engineering units. These files are scaled down by a factor of 12 to change inches into feet for Visual. DWG and DXF files that are created using any other unit will not be scaled, unless the drawing is formatted to use architectural or engineering units just before it is sent to Visual. In this case, the drawing will be scaled down and will likely appear too small in Visual.
Solution
To check that the drawing has been scaled down, use the Distance command under Tools to measure a known reference point.

To correct the scale outside of Visual, format the unit type as decimal and import the DWG or DXF file into Visual again.

To correct the scale inside of Visual:
  1. Select View All
  2. Select Modify < Scale
  3. Change the Scale Mode to Uniform
  4. Type in 12 for the Scale
  5. Select everything in the design
  6. Set a base point near the bottom left of the drawing
  7. Right-click to complete
