How can I register for a training session?

To register for training, click on the register button for the date you would like to attend:

Note: In order to provide the following training sessions, we must have 8 people confirmed 1 week prior to the training date.

What can I expect to learn during a training session?

The full day training sessions offer hands-on experience with the Visual Professional Edition. Attendees follow along on a computer (computers will be provided) as the instructor demonstrates how to create real-world applications. The agenda for training session is as follows:

  • Features of Visual 2.6
  • Understanding the Visual interface
  • Construct and modify objects
  • Step-by-step walk through of an interior and an exterior projects
  • Print Editor
  • Website/Visual Support

Should I take a class?

Professional Edition training sessions are primarily for users with little to no experience interested learning how to use the Visual Professional Edition. This class will not cover the Basic Edition and will not be appropriate for experienced Professional Edition user.

To insure that attendees have comparable computing skills, as this determines the pace of the class, the following prerequisites have been established for people attending an open enrollment session:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
  • Understanding of Windows Explorer files and folders.
  • Familiarity with a mouse.

Recommended, but not required skills include:

  • AutoCAD or similar CAD experience.
  • Familiarity with photometric files.
  • Lighting design experience.

Where is the class?

Visual Professional Edition training sessions are held at the Acuity Brands Lighting Center in Conyers, GA.


Where can I stay?

The training sessions are free of charge and a Continental breakfast and lunch are provided. However, you are expected to pay for travel to Conyers, hotel accommodations, ground transportation to and from the airport, and any other expenses.
